A Bit About Me

Originally from Oklahoma, my wife, Alaina, and I have lived in Colorado for more than 15 years. We have three amazing kids and sometimes feel guilty that we get to live and minister in the greatest and most magical place in the world!

Education

I've spent the last 20 years in pastoral ministry. Ten of those years I devoted to pastoring the church my wife and I planted in suburban Denver with the North American Mission Board before moving to Fraser, CO. My wife and I led our church to become financially self-sufficient and the church continues to thrive and impact the communities of East Aurora.

For almost 10 years, I have had the honor and joy of assessing, training, and encouraging church planters in Colorado. It began when I created and led a church-planter cohort in Aurora, CO to train, equip, and encourage planters. In addition to the cohort, I help teach church planting courses in seminaries and Bible schools. I currently serve on the North American Mission Board's (NAMB) assessment team to develop the national assessment process and to assess planters in the West and am a licensed NAMB church planting trainer.

I hold a Bachelor of Sociology and Religion from Oklahoma State University, a Master of Divinity from Gateway Seminary of the Southern Baptist Convention, and a Master of Theology from Denver Seminary. I currently serve as an Affiliate Professor of New Testament at Colorado Christian University.

My Passion:

I'm passionate about seeing the gospel planted and spread in new places and communities. Church planting was the hardest and most rewarding thing I've ever done in my life. I love being able to equip, train, and encourage other planters to help them maximize gospel impact, remain healthy, and thrive in their calling. Most of my two decades of ministry have been in bi-vocational settings, so I know the challenges and advantages that face the modern planter.
