Granby, Colorado

Granby, incorporated in 1905, is located in Grand County in Middle Park and sits at an elevation of 8,000 feet. The town is surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery and is a recreation paradise. Granby is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, allowing local residents and visitors to enjoy downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, gold-medal river and lake fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, biking, golfing, rafting, horseback riding and an array of other exciting outdoor activities. With a population of 2,200 and only 80 miles from Denver, Granby is one of the most special places in the state.

The Church Plant

Granby is the epitome of a town full of potential for a new church plant. The town has several small congregations, but there is a huge gap between what the people of the town need and what is available for them. Granby is growing at a rapid pace and the town has spent the last several years remodeling and rebranding to be more engaging and relevant to future residents and vacationers. Several churches in surrounding towns have strong and committed believers who live in Granby and would be very excited for a new church and the opportunity to serve on a core team.

While the cost of living in Granby is much less than nearby towns like Grand Lake, Fraser, and Winter Park, it is still expensive. A church planter here would be wise to consider a bi-vocational or co-vocational approaching to planting. Being only 15 miles from Fraser, housing in the Valley Life ministry house could be an option for the first year of planting to help with the transition.

I'm interested in bringing a ministry or mission team to serve in Granby.

I'm interested in being a part of planting the church as the Lead Planter or core team.

I want to hear more about other ministries, towns, and opportunities in the high country.
